following your dreams…

and being all you can be will always be one main facet of our encouragement throughout the years we are blessed to have you under our wings. You have a connection and desire to know horses as if you were truly kindred spirits. I can’t say that I have that natural desire, but I know [...]

my cowboy and my camera…

provided for a little fun the other day. I’m trying new things with my photography and here’s a little of what I got (they made me laugh)…

By the way, the cowboy attire has become an everyday thing and he likes to go by John Chism.  :-)

…and that’s my Jadon! :-)

the rest of the birthday…

festivities were pretty low key! Since you were under the weather on your actual birthday, we postponed the celebrations for a week! :-)

You got some nice new clothes, toys, money and lots of sweet wishes!

I was impressed how quickly you figured out how to get on your new horse…

and how quickly you learned to get [...]

what an amazing first year…

you have had – truly a beautiful year…full of love, laughter, discoveries, trials, growth and so much more.
From day one you have had a very nurturing and watchful big sister. She’s usually the first one on the scene to rescue you when something goes wrong!

And your big brother accepted his new role with such [...]

amid a typical whining episode yesterday…

Bryan mentions, “Cowboys don’t whine.”
“Some cowboys do when they get shot.”
Can you guess who gave that reply? :)
Bryan was tempted to say, “Well, then let me give you a reason…” But he didn’t. ;)

a baby’s first birthday…

requires a lot of preparation. A Mom has to get the cake ready, the baby ready, the camera ready, siblings ready, party area ready (this includes anything that might show up in the photos), and if you’re smart you get the bath ready…before the festivities begin! I missed that bathtub part. There I was, dirty [...]

well it’s a goner…

the last of the front teeth that is. And the tooth fairy didn’t have to take out a loan this time! :)

By the way, I had to be tricky about this picture. Abby informed me earlier that I couldn’t get a picture of her missing teeth. BUT since it was okay to get a picture [...]

sensing our senses…

and comparing them to certain animal senses was the theme of our field trip to Pinnacle Mountain State Park yesterday.

The kids enjoyed looking, touching, seeing and hearing lots of new things. Abby’s favorite parts were learning that butterflies taste with their feet, hearing an owl hoot in the forest and walking among the “humongous” bald [...]

just enjoying the scenery…

and the nice weather yesterday. If I didn’t know better, I would believe it was spring already. But it’s just like Texas here where the weather can drastically change in a heartbeat!

So we definitely enjoy it while we can!

just hoping for a candid shot…

I decide to sneak around the corner of the horse trailer where Jadon is playing by himself. My camera is all set and…click. Since I was concentrating on taking the picture, I didn’t even notice WHAT he was playing with until he kept saying in his quiet little voice, “don’t be mad.” Well, after he [...]
